The International Federation of Social Workers has joined with America’s National Association of Social Workers to celebrate Jane Addams Day. Even though she was not a trained social worker (the profession of “social work” was in its infancy during her lifetime), Jane Addams is widely recognized as a pioneer in this critically important field.
