“Woman’s touch guided several of year’s best films”
Congratulations to the Trib for running Tom Long’s article, but in fact metro Chicago women have been leading the fight against “the celluloid ceiling” for years. WITASWAN (“Women in the Audience Supporting Women Artists Now!”) is an Illinois-based initiative now in its sixth year, & next year SWAN DAY (March 29, 2008) will be celebrated here & in many other places all around the world. Someone from The Detroit News can be forgiven if all of this is news to him. The editors at the Trib, however, should already know.
