A dork named “Payton” (Gaelan Connell) must negotiate the high school dating scene while his widowed father (James Belushi) gets parenting advice from one-time Bears Coach Mike Ditka.
But in this film (unlike most in this genre) the girls are actually smart: the cheerleader (Riley Voelkel) has a plan & the “dorkette” (Vanessa Marano) has the patience to see it thru.
Kudos to director Salomé Breziner (working with screenwriters Nicholas Brandt & Johnny Severin). The Secret Lives of Dorks is sweet, funny, & very enjoyable. (JLH: 3.5/5)
