BioPic about Aaron Lustiger (born in France to Jewish refugee parents in 1926), who converted to Catholicism, rose rapidly thru the church hierarchy & became a key advisor to Pope Jean Paul II.
The first half may be weighed down by exposition, but once Aaron Lustiger–now calling himself Jean-Marie Lustiger–faces off against Carmelite nuns who start building a convent at Auschwitz the drama burns with passion and intensity!
Kudos to director Ilan Duran Cohen and screenwriter Chantal Derudder for this riveting drama! (JLH: 4/5)

Q: Does The Jewish Cardinal pass the Bechdel Test? No, there are hardly any women in this film at all. None of the Carmelite Nuns have names and none of them talk to each other.
