From Jan Lisa Huttner (Editor-in-Chief of FF2 Media)
Six films either written &/or directed by women filmmakers opened in Manhattan theatres this week:
- Dark River
- Hover
- Leave No Trace
- Love, Cecil
- Recovery Boys
- Woman Walks Ahead
Of these six, so far I seen four. One — Love, Cecil — is a doc. Three — Dark River, Leave No Trace & Woman Walks Ahead — are narrative features.
My Top Pick for July 6th (drumroll please!) is Leave No Trace, Debra Granick’s superb new film about a vet with PTSD trying to live off the grid with his teen age daughter.
