Three films either written or directed by women filmmakers opened in Manhattan theaters this week:
- Afterward
- Chhapaak
- The Woman Who Loves Giraffes
Of these three, so far I’ve seen two. Two — Afterward, The Woman Who Loves Giraffes — are docs. One — Chhapaak –is a narrative feature.
My Top Pick for January 10th (drumroll please!) is The Woman Who Loves Giraffes, “A documentary about Anne Innis Dagg, one of the first zoologists to do extensive field research on a wild animal.”
